The Second Judicial District Court Administration has an immediate opening for a Judicial Specialist - Courtroom Technology Specialist. This position requires travel to all counties in the Second Judicial District. Domicile will be determined by successful candidates, however will need to reside within Judicial District 2.
Hours: Monday – Friday 8:00AM – 4:30PM
Salary: $38,667.20 Annually. If a Judicial Special Specialist 2, 3, or 4 applies and is selected for this vacancy, their current hourly pay and classification will remain unchanged.

Minimum Qualification Requirements
Graduation from an accredited high school (or High School Equivalency) and two (2) years of successful completion of accredited post high school education in business, paralegal, computer, legal assistant or related program. Two (2) years of professional office experience in business, court or legal work or a related area with one (1) year of the experience involving customer service. At the discretion of the appointing authority additional years of experience may be substituted for the required post high school education.
Or, the successful completion of additional years of education (i.e., Bachelor’s Degree) may be substituted for years of experience on the basis that successful completion of thirty (30) semester hours or academic equivalent equals one year of experience. Education cannot be substituted for customer service experience.

- Must be detail oriented.
- General knowledge of audio/visual systems, video conferencing systems, digital video and audio recording equipment.
- Assisting with the installation and maintenance of technology and “troubleshooting” for the purpose of identifying technology issues and resolving them.
- Ability to develop step-by-step instruction documentation.
- Critical thinking skills and the ability to problem solve.
The following are examples of major job duties this position is expected to perform:
- Ensure courtrooms have fully functioning audio and visual systems through regular testing and troubleshooting.
- Train employees on the use of audio/visual courtroom technologies.
- Create and maintain user guides on audio/visual courtroom technologies.
- Provide support to judicial officers, attorneys, and litigants with video conferencing technology.
- Coordinate technology with attorneys, self-represented parties and judicial officers.
- Organize and configure technology equipment in the courtroom, including but not limited to, maximizing space on the Bench and cable management.
- Assist with the scheduling of hearings and trials requiring technology (Zoom, Remote witness and/or parties, etc.)
- Effectively operate and manage digital recording management software.
- Monitor compliance of digital recording policies by judicial officers and other court support staff.
- Schedule service calls and track repairs for technology.
