Job Description
The Iowa Correctional Institution for Women is a multi-faceted correctional institution that serves as the only female facility and female reception center for the Iowa Department of Corrections. We are looking for a full time Nursing Unit Coordinator to join our team.
The Position Will Be Responsible For
Scheduling off-site UIHC appointments for offenders, notifying other departments so trip arrangements can be made, maintaining a weekly UIHC schedule of pending appointments, disseminating offender records when they return from UIHC, disseminating medical records received from outside sources, scheduling Urology tele med for all facilities, maintaining contacts and requests for CareLine/UIHC Physician Relations.
Maintains All Active Medical Records To Include
Order clerical supplies
Offender (or II) medical worker oversight and payroll processing.
Medical supplies and equipment inventory, ordering and stocking.
Medication tote exchange and delivery to health services from Central Pharmacy
Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualification Requirements
The equivalent of two years of full-time clerical work experience involving the use of medical terminology;
OR
employees with current continuous experience in the state executive branch that includes the equivalent of one year of full-time work experience as a Resident Treatment Worker, Pharmacy Assistant or a position providing nursing care or clerical work in a state institution providing medical services shall be considered qualified.

- Filing, scanning, pulling charts for doctors, trips
- Fax Release of information
- Contact county jails for medical records
- Chart auditing for completion upon admission as well as outgoing charts
