Minimum Qualification Requirements
Graduation from high school, or G.E.D., and eight years of full-time work experience in the procurement of technical, standardized, expendable, and non-expendable items, or in services procurement and contract administration, including the review of ongoing compliance with contract requirements and terms;
OR
graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a bachelor's degree in business or public administration, accounting or economics and four years of the required experience;
OR
an equivalent combination of education and experience substituting one year of education (30 semester hours or one year) for each year of the required experience;
OR
graduate course work from an accredited college or university in business or public administration, accounting, or economics, may be substituted to a maximum substitution of one year (30 semester hours or one year) of the required experience;
OR
employees with current continuous experience in the state executive branch that includes experience equal to eighteen months as a Purchasing Agent 2.

As a Purchasing Agent 3, your duties will include, but are not limited to:
- Administration of formal bid solicitations for goods and services over $50,000 on a routine basis, including Requests for Proposals, where determination of contract award is based on weighted matrix criteria including, but not limited to, cost.
- Administration of informal bid solicitations for purchases under $50,000 for a variety of goods and services.
- Apply decision making skills throughout all aspects of the procurement process based on compliance of appropriate agency policies, administrative code, and all federal, state, and local regulations applicable for the DOT and other state entities.
- Communicate and collaborate with business units to provide education on best procurement practices, research potential bidders and prepare specifications for bidding purposes.
- Facilitate the evaluation of bid responses for compliance, lead final negotiations and award.
- Execute contracts, provide contract administration and analytical support to business
