The Iowa Department of Health and Human Services is seeking an experienced Social Worker Supervisor for Northcentral and Northwest Iowa, who will perform a full range of supervisory functions including directing, planning, and supervising a team of social workers who provide targeted case management (TCM) services for people of all ages with complex medical needs and disabilities.
Responsibilities
The Social Work Supervisor is a full-time opportunity, Monday – Friday with typical hours being from 8 am – 4:30 pm. Flexibility to work variable hours, including occasional evenings and/or weekends is necessary for emergent situations. This position provides back up as needed for other supervisors and is responsible for overseeing and managing case managers throughout a multi county area and may be domiciled in any of these locations:
Requirements
This position requires a valid driver's license and travel to multiple counties throughout Northcentral and Northwest Iowa. Travel to Des Moines and other locations in Iowa is also expected as needed for meetings. Mileage is paid at $0.50/mile travelled according to the Department of Administrative Services (DAS) State Accounting Enterprise (SAE) procedures.

Selectives
923 Targeted Case Management Bachelor’s Degree with at least 30 semester hours including:
Graduation from an accredited four year college and experience equal to four years of full-time work in a social work capacity in a public or private agency;
OR
professional experience in a social work capacity may be substituted for the required education on the basis of one year of qualifying experience for each thirty semester hours of education;
OR
a Bachelor's degree in social work from an accredited four year college or university and experience equal to three years of full-time experience in a social work capacity in a public or private agency;
OR
a Master's degree in social work from an accredited college or university and experience equal to one year of full-time work in a social work capacity in a public or private agency;
OR
any equivalent combination of graduate education in the social or behavioral sciences from an accredited college or university and qualifying experience up to a maximum of thirty semester hours for one year of the required experience;
OR
employees with current continuous experience in the state executive branch that includes experience equal to 24 months of full-time work as a Social Worker 2, or 12 months as a Social Worker 3/4 or Social Work Supervisor 1 or any combination of the above equaling 24 months shall be considered as qualified.

- Social Sciences Applicant must also possess 1 year experience in delivery of human services as a Targeted (Medicaid) Case Manager in the combination of:
- Chronic mental illness
- Developmental disabilities
- Intellectual disabilities OR Applicant must have Iowa license to practice as a registered nurse and the equivalent of 3 years nursing or human services experience.
