What are the responsibilities and job description for the Accounting Intern position at State of Louisiana?
The Accounting Department of the Teachers' Retirement System of Louisiana (TRSL) is seeking a motivated graduate or undergraduate student possessing a strong work ethic, integrity, the ability to work well with others and able to perform accounting duties.
The successful candidate will assist the Accounting Department in check processing, subledger balancing, reviewing and maintaining exceptions and monitoring reports, and various other TRSL accounting and administrative support functions all while working in a positive work environment.
Candidate may work up to 25 hours per week with a flexible schedule and is expected (but not guaranteed) to continue until the successful candidate is eligible to compete for a full-time position with TRSL. The salary for this position is $17 per hour.
Candidate must be enrolled full-time in an accredited college or university pursuing a degree in accounting. Student must maintain full-time status in order to retain eligibility for continued employment as a student worker/intern.
Verification of full-time student status must be provided to the Human Resources office upon hire and at the beginning of each Spring and Fall semester. Verification must be on official university letterhead and include the student's name, status, number of hours enrolled, and classification.
