Adjunct Computer Science Instructor

Appointed by the Chancellor of the College upon recommendation of the Vice Chancellor of Academic Affairs
GENERAL POSITION SUMMARY
Adjunct instructors may be assigned classes at any of the four River Parishes Community College campuses (Gonzales, Reserve, Plaquemine, and St. Charles), as determined by student need and institutional demand. Teaching needs may include face-to-face/online and/or evening classes. Adjunct Faculty are responsible for timely and accurate submission of required documentation related to human resources and instruction.
The pay for the position is contingent upon the hours and classes assigned. Adjunct instructors are currently paid at the rate of $800 per credit hour.

QUALIFICATIONS
- Required
- Associate Degree in Information Technology related field from an accredited institution OR any of the following certifications: CompTIA A Core 1 and Core 2 certification, CompTIA Network certification, CompTIA Cloud Essentials certification, CompTIA Security certification, CompTIA Cloud certification, CompTIA Linux certification, Microsoft 70-740 Installation, Storage, and Compute with Windows Server AND at least 3 years of professional work experience in network administration or IT hardware/software support
- Preferred:
- Previous teaching experience
- Ability to teach a variety of courses within the department, including but not limited to: Problem-solving & Programming Techniques, IT Hardware Support, IT Software Support, Network Essentials, Introduction to Scripting, Introduction to Virtualization, Microsoft Windows Servers, Relational Database Coding, Introduction to Cloud Computing, Linux Server, Network Security Design, Advanced Topics in Linux
