ADJUNCT INSTRUCTOR OF INSTRUMENTATION AND ELECTRICAL TECHNOLOGY

Appointed by the Chancellor of the College upon recommendation of the Vice Chancellor of Academic Affairs
GENERAL POSITION SUMMARY
Adjunct instructors may be assigned classes at any of the four River Parishes Community College campuses (Gonzales, Reserve, Plaquemine and St. Charles Locations), as determined by student need and institutional demand. Teaching needs will include face-to-face, online, and/or evening classes. Adjunct faculty are responsible for timely and accurate submission of required documentation related to human resources and instruction.
No Civil Service test score or assessment is required to be considered for this vacancy.The pay for the position is contingent upon the hours and classes assigned. Adjunct instructors are currently paid at the rate of $800 per credit hour.

QUALIFICATIONS
- Required:
- Associate degree and/or five years’ related field experience in instrumentation
- Current knowledge of various instrumentation systems and practices
- Current knowledge of industrial safety rules
- Computer skills and use of internet
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Ability to work with diverse student populations
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Effectively develop, deliver, revise, and teach classroom, lab and online curriculum in a team-oriented setting;
- Apply necessary components of math, human relations, communications, and cultural competence as embedded soft skills in the technical curriculum;
- Develop and maintain appropriate lab equipment and environment for training;
- Maintain a safe, orderly, and up-to-date lab area for the application of multiple labs within the curriculum;
- Develop and implement measures of program outcomes and effectiveness;
- Keep current with industrial practices and technology;
- Work with local industry representatives, as needed;
- Meet College deadlines for attendance taking and grade submission;
- Monitor and document student performance; and
- Demonstrate a strong commitment to the River Parishes Community College Mission; contribute to college-wide goals and activities
