- Bachelor’s degree in education, counseling, human services, or a related field required; experience in higher education preferred.
- Two (2) to three (3) years of academic advising, success coaching, or student engagement.
- Ability to work evenings and weekend as needed.
- Valid Driver’s license.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Must have use of sensory skills in order to effectively communicate and interact with other employees and the public through the use of the telephone and personal contact as normally defined by the ability to see, read, talk, hear and handle or feel objects and controls.
- Must have physical capability to effectively use and operate various items of office equipment such as, but not limited to, personal computer, calculator, copier, and fax machine.
- Ability to occasionally lift or carry up to 10 pounds.
- Must be capable of sitting in stationary position for 50% or more of time.

This full-time, 12-month position is responsible for supporting the Student Success Center by providing comprehensive academic advising, career planning, and onboarding services. Acting as a liaison, the role connects students with institutional and community resources to promote their academic and personal success, while fostering a supportive and engaging environment that encourages retention and achievement.
- Provide academic advising tailored to individual student needs, ensuring alignment with educational and career goals.
- Assist students in selecting courses, interpreting assessment scores, and making informed decisions about program pathways.
- Monitor students’ progress from initial enrollment to graduation, providing proactive and customized support.
- Develop, document, and approve academic plans for students in assigned caseloads.
- Guide students in understanding placement test results, course placements, and registration processes.
- Conduct proactive outreach and interventions to support student success and completion.
- Utilize individual, group, and electronic communication methods to engage students and track outcomes.
- Collaborate with Career Services and other college departments to provide workshops and student success initiatives.
- Stay informed about academic and workforce programs in high-demand fields, ensuring students have accurate and timely information.
- Maintain and convey knowledge of college programs, transfer options, scholarship opportunities, and financial aid basics.
- Participate in onboarding and engagement programs to support diverse student populations.
- Assist students in navigating and accessing academic, financial, and career resources.
- Support student tracking, data collection, and analysis, contributing to advising improvements and institutional planning.
- Work collaboratively with faculty, staff, and administration to ensure a seamless and supportive advising experience.
- Contribute to unit planning, assessment, and institutional projects that enhance student retention and success.
- Other duties as assigned.
