This position may be filled as:
- DETAIL: The selected employee may be required to serve a trial detail prior to being permanently promoted.
- PROBATIONAL APPOINTMENT: Current permanent status classified State employees may be required to accept a probational appointment, if selected.
- TEMPORARY JOB APPOINTMENT: This position may be filled by temporary job appointment. If filled as a temporary job appointment, should a permanent position become available, the employee may be converted to a probational appointment.
This position has a Special Entrance Rate of $26.95 per hour.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:A master's degree in psychology followed by four years of experience in psychological testing; psychological research; or the design and implementation of behavioral management plans; OR
Thirty semester hours of graduate-level training in psychology earned after completing a master's degree in psychology plus three years of experience in psychological testing; psychological research; or the design and implementation of behavioral management plans; or
A doctorate degree in psychology plus one year of experience in psychological testing; psychological research; or the design and implementation of behavioral management plans.Function of Work:
To provide a variety of psychological services to clients and organizations as (1) a unit manager exercising line authority over all service delivery functions; or (2) a program manager exercising line and/or functional authority over one or more program components within the organization.
Level of Work:
Manager.
Supervision Received:
Clinical supervision is received from a Licensed Psychologist. Broad administrative direction is received from a facility administrator, licensed psychologist, or other professional at a higher level.
Supervision Exercised:
Line and/or functional supervision may be exercised over lower-level professional and other support personnel.
Location of Work:
May be used by all state agencies--statewide.
Job Distinctions:
Differs from the Associate 3 to a Psychologist by the presence of managerial level work.Exercises managerial responsibility in an interdisciplinary program of services.
Serves as consultant on overall program development to one or more units of the facility.
Reviews individual client progress and assumes responsible role in planning for treatment and habilitation.
Designs and conducts specialized intervention programs.
Designs and/or conducts research, program evaluations, or quality assurance studies consistent with agency goals.
Coordinates referrals for psychological services.
Plans, organizes, and implements behavior management programs.
Conducts individual and group counseling sessions.
Trains and/or supervises interdisciplinary staff in special program procedures and methods.
Serves on various facility committees; may serve as chairperson.
May participate in developing operational policies for facility.
