This vacancy is located in the DCFS-State Office Building, Baton Rouge.
The incumbent will work with the Audit Manager and Audit Director to plan the activities of the internal audit staff to facilitate timely and comprehensive audits and will conduct federal and state program audits as mandated by the DCFS Internal Audit Plan. The incumbent will work independently to perform highly complex audits and will be responsible for the performance of audits of departmental programs, operations and services, internal and external projects with a focus on internal control, operational efficiency and compliance.
This position may be filled as a probational appointment or a job appointment that may last up to 48 months. Job appointments may convert to probational appointments. Also, it may be filled as a detail and promoted within 12 months.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Six years of experience in accounting or auditing; OR
Six years of full-time experience in any field plus twenty-four semester hours in one or a combination of the following: accounting, auditing, business, finance, management, economics, quantitative methods, or information systems plus three years of experience in accounting or auditing; OR
A bachelor’s degree with twenty-four semester hours in one or a combination of the following: accounting, auditing, business, finance, management, economics, quantitative methods, or information systems plus three years of experience in accounting or auditing; OR
A bachelor’s degree in accounting, auditing, finance, business administration, management, economics, information systems, quantitative methods, or statistics plus three years of experience in accounting or auditing; OR
A bachelor’s degree plus a Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) or Certified Government Audit Professional (CGAP) designation plus three years of experience in accounting or auditing; OR
An advanced degree in accounting, auditing, finance, business administration, management, economics, information systems, quantitative methods, or statistics plus two years of experience in accounting or auditing; OR
A Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license, Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), or Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) designation plus one year of experience in accounting or auditing.

FUNCTION OF WORK:
To supervise auditors in all aspects of an audit program.
LEVEL OF WORK:
Supervisor.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED:
Typically, direct from an Audit Manager or higher level audit position.
SUPERVISION EXERCISED:
Direct over lower level auditors.
LOCATION OF WORK:
May be used by all state agencies.
JOB DISTINCTIONS:
Differs from Auditor 4 by the presence of direct supervisory duties over multiple subordinates.
Differs from Audit Manager by the absence of management duties over an audit division.

Supervises all aspects of an agency audit program, including assigning work to subordinate auditors, reviewing individual audit plans and reports, and providing guidance as necessary.
May conduct more sensitive audits or handle matters of great confidentiality related to the audit program.
Prepares or assists in the preparation of the agency annual audit program.
May perform financial, operational, and/or compliance type audits for the agency.
Salary : $4,470 - $8,767
