MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Possession of a high school diploma or equivalent plus four years of experience or training in any field.
EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:
Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will substitute for one year of the required experience.
NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENT:
May be required to possess a current Louisiana driver's license at the time of appointment.
To serve as a supervisor of field office personnel who issue driver's licenses, identification cards, license plates and title registrations.
OR
To serve as a one-person motor vehicle office manager who issues driver's licenses, license plates and title registrations.

Supervisor.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED:
General from Motor Vehicle Office Manager or higher level agency personnel.
SUPERVISION EXERCISED:
May provide direct over Motor Vehicle Compliance Analyst 1, 2 and 3, and other lower-level Motor Vehicle employees.
LOCATION OF WORK:
Department of Public Safety and Corrections, Public Safety Services, Office of Motor Vehicles.
JOB DISTINCTIONS:
Differs from Motor Vehicle Compliance Analyst 1, 2, 3 and 4 by the presence of first line supervisory duties or by serving as a one-man motor vehicle office manager.
Differs from Motor Vehicle Office Manager A and B by the absence of independent supervisory responsibility over all Motor Vehicle office operations in a field office with staff.
Serves as a supervisor; assigns, reviews, and evaluates the work of subordinates engaged in the application and enforcement of motor vehicle laws, rules and regulations.
Participates in the interview of customers for and the issuance of driver's licenses, identification cards, and vehicle registrations.
Determines eligibility of customer for driver's license and the restrictions, if any, to be placed on the license.
Reviews all documents submitted for title transactions and makes sure all necessary documentation is present. Determines the type of license plate required for the motor vehicle based on the vehicle and its intended use.
Determines assessment of fees for international reciprocity agreements on vehicle licenses and on the sales taxes due on licensing transactions for vehicles newly registered in Louisiana.
Performs work of Motor Vehicle Compliance Analysts on cases which present problems of licensing or vehicle registration because of the complexity of the transaction or the difficulty of understanding by the customer.
Assesses need of equipment, office supplies and other materials necessary to provide effective service to the general public.
Provides guidance and instruction on processing daily accounting reports, production and inventories.
May inspect vehicles for safe operation and demonstrate driving techniques and maneuvers to be executed in driver performance test during personnel shortages or high volume of customers.
Performs work in accordance with laws, rules, regulations governing the evaluation and processing of the automated Motor Vehicle records relative to suspension, revocation and cancellation of the driving and registering privileges and, provides assistance on driver and vehicle records.
Trains new employees and advises employees on laws, rules and regulations, procedures, and any public contact.
Interviews prospective applicants for employment in the absence of the manager.
Prepares reports of time and attendance records.
Serves as Deputy Custodian of Records for the Office of Motor Vehicles and empowered with full and complete authority as custodian of records; certifies documents as official records and testifies in court as to the validity of these records. Assists the manager with the implementation of procedures on new or re-enacted laws passed by the legislature.
Prepares daily, weekly and monthly production reports.
Establishes and maintains quality control of computerized Motor Vehicle records.
