The school has a 40-year legacy of a preeminent college-level living/learning experience for high school sophomores, juniors, and seniors. Located adjacent to the Northwestern State University campus, LSMSA is a National Blue Ribbon School which, in 2023 and 2024, was rated No 1 for Best Public High School Teachers in Louisiana and ranked in the top 1% of all public high schools in the United States, according to Niche.com, and was named a World’s Leading Boarding School by Fortune Magazine in 2023.

Required Qualifications:
- A master’s degree in the subject area.
- Teaching experience with advanced high school students or at the collegiate level. Preferred:
- A Ph.D. or terminal degree in the subject area.
- Five or more years of teaching experience.
- Research, creative work, performance, or some evidence of individualized work in one’s area of expertise.
