Minimum Qualifications
Five years of experience in developing, managing, or evaluating health or social service programs; or in public health, public relations, social services, health services, health regulation, or administrative services; OR
Six years of full-time work experience in any field plus two years of experience in developing, managing, or evaluating health or social service programs; or in public health, public relations, social services, health services, health regulation, or administrative services; OR
A bachelor’s degree plus two years of experience in developing, managing, or evaluating health or social service programs; or in public health, public relations, social services, health services, health regulation, or administrative services; OR
An advanced degree or a Juris Doctorate plus one year of experience in developing, managing, or evaluating health or social service programs; or in public health, public relations, social services, health services, health regulation, or administrative services.
EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:
Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.

Examples of Work
POSITION DUTIES:
- Monitor the Telephone Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (T-CPR) Program as mandated in Act 578 of the 2018 Regular Legislative Session.
- Set the minimum standards for course approval, instruction and examination of the T-CPR program by seeking information from, and provide assistance to various 911 call centers and dispatch services where T-CPR must be implemented.
- Issue T-CPR Certification to qualified applicants in accordance to Act 578 of the 2018 Regular Legislative Session.
- Issue Ambulance Operators Certifications to qualified applicants in accordance to Act 644 of the 2022 Regular Legislative Session.
- Utilizing the knowledge obtained by maintaining an Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Clinician license, assist applicants with navigating the certification process, process application in a timely manner and verify that Ambulance Operators do not attempt to obtain a certification renewal as this is prohibited by law.
- Coordinate and facilitate the submission of criminal background documents. Review all federal and state criminal history reports received from Louisiana State Police and accurately update the appropriate accounts in the Information Management System.
- Relative to applicants in which the affirmative criminal background was disclosed, ensure that all required documents are received and complete before moving the application forward to the EMS Commission.
- Relative to applications in which the affirmative criminal background was not disclosed, return the application to the applicant notifying them of the need to update the applications and then ensure that all required documents are received and complete before moving the application forward to the EMS Commission.
- Respond during emergency disaster events and provide ambulance placarding at the site to credential ambulance during a disaster.
- Provide assistance to the Emergency Medical Services Tactical Operations Center as requested during a declared disaster.
- Other duties as assigned by the Bureau of EMs Director and/or the Bureau of EMS Deputy Director.
