This vacancy is being announced as a Classified position and may be filled as a Detail to Special Duty, Job appointment, Probationary, Promotional appointment.

The Enforcement Unit Program Monitor position assists in the administration of the Engineering Enforcement Program, a complex, statewide program tasked with drafting, issuing, and tracking formal enforcement instruments (Administrative/Compliance Orders) for Public Drinking Water Systems and Community Sewage Systems that have been identified by the Office of Public Health (OPH) and/or United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to be in violation of state/federal regulations and to direct said Systems in returning to compliance with applicable state/federal laws, rules, and regulations (Louisiana State Sanitary Code [LAC 51] and 40 CFR 141-142). The Program Monitor reports to the Administrator (Program Manager 2) of the Engineering Enforcement Program which is responsible for all formal enforcement activities for the Safe Drinking Water Program and Community Sewage Program.
Job duties include but are not limited to:
- Assists with administering Engineering Enforcement Program by drafting formal enforcement instruments
- Monitors/tracks/records compliance/non-compliance of the ordered remedial action items contained in Administrative and Compliance orders
- Collaborates with inter-agency staff and conducts informal enforcement meetings and conferences statewide
- Performs emergency response activities as directed by the agency. Assists with administering Engineering Enforcement Program by drafting formal enforcement instruments

Five years of experience in developing, managing, or evaluating health or social service programs; or in public health, public relations, social services, health services, health regulation, or administrative services; OR

EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:
Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.

Assist with coordination, management and monitoring of statewide program(s).
