Louisiana Department of Health (LDH) implement of a premium pay rate of up to $8.00 per hour for hours worked for market conditions.
Shift Differential
2nd shift differential evening $3.25 (2:00pm-10:30pm)
3rd shift differential evening $3.00 (10:00pm-6:30am)
2nd shift differential evenings weekend/holidays $3.25 (2:00pm-10:30pm)
3rd shift differential evenings weekend/holidays $3.00 (10:00pm-6:30am)
Longevity (for the hours worked only)
0 months to less than 6 months $2.00
6 months to less than 3 years $3.00
3 years to less than 5 years $4.00
5 years or greater $5.00
There is also a premium pay for Certified Developmental Disabilities Nurse certification. Certification must be verified and if verified there is a premium pay of $0.50 per actual hour worked.
This position has hourly On-Call pay
Weekdays $2.15
Weekends and Holidays $2.25

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Possession of a current Louisiana Registered Nurse license or a temporary permit or multi-state license issued by a Nursing Licensure Compact (NLC/eNLC) state to practice as a registered nurse plus one of the following:
Five years of experience as a licensed registered nurse; OR
A bachelor's degree in nursing plus four years of experience as a licensed registered nurse; OR
A master's degree in nursing or public health plus four years of experience as a licensed registered nurse; OR
A doctorate in nursing or public health plus three years of experience as a licensed registered nurse.
FUNCTION OF WORK:
To serve as the principle assistant to a Director of Nursing .
LEVEL OF WORK:
Administrator.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED:
General from a Registered Nurse of a higher level or other higher level personnel.
SUPERVISION EXERCISED:
Direct line over Registered Nurse Managers, Supervisors, and lower level personnel.
LOCATION OF WORK:
Statewide.
JOB DISTINCTIONS:
Differs from RN Assistant Director of Nursing B by the size of the facility, supervisory, and programmatic responsibilities.
Differs from RN Director of Nursing A by the absence of serving as the director of nursing services within a facility.

EXAMPLES OF WORK:EXAMPLES BELOW ARE A BRIEF SAMPLE OF COMMON DUTIES ASSOCIATED WITH THIS JOB TITLE. NOT ALL POSSIBLE TASKS ARE INCLUDED.Serves as assistant to the Nursing Director of a small facility.
Makes daily rounds of nursing units and may provide direct patient care on complex cases.
Assumes the duties of Nursing Director in her/his absence.
Assists in planning and directing nursing services for the facility and coordinates activities with other departments.
Determines staffing requirements for nursing division, including professionals and paraprofessionals.
Develops area operation policies, procedures, and standards of care in accordance with overall facility and accreditation committee policies.
Ensures that patient care standards are maintained by supervising and directing activities of subordinate nurses and by participating in quality assurance activities.
Serves as consultant to clinical supervisors on technical and disciplinary issues.
Develops and monitors nursing division budget, and maintains statistics on division activities and patient census.
Reviews master staffing roster to ensure adequate nursing coverage of all units or wards.
Recommends hiring and dismissal of employees.
Initiates, participates in, and evaluates special studies or research concerning nursing care.
Identifies needs for in-service education and serves on facility policies/procedures/standards committees.
Participates in ongoing recruitment programs.
