Minimum Qualifications
- A baccalaureate degree plus two years of professional level experience in education, administrative services, human resources or training.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Ability to develop, launch, and manage multiple projects simultaneously with limited supervision;
- Strong written and verbal communication skills;
- Strong organizational and time management skills;
- Ability to work effectively and collaboratively with coworkers, public officials, and members of the public;

Job Concepts
The duties and requirements of a Training Program Specialist in the Administrative Services Division shall include, but are not limited to the following:
- Facilitate the successful implementation of agency wide training programs, including administrative activities, development of policies and procedures, new course development, needs assessment, and post course evaluation;
- Plan and execute annual training conferences;
- Coordinate and develop Continuing Legal Education (CLE) for all attorneys at the LADOJ;
- Coordinate and oversee training courses for all justices of the peace and constables in the state of Louisiana;
- Liaise with each department in order to best assist them in fulfilling their training needs;
- Build relationships with partners around the state;
- Develop and maintain budgets for each event.
Examples of Work
The duties and requirements of a Training Program Specialist in the Administrative Services Division shall include, but are not limited to the following:
- Develop and administer a statewide training and development program of significant scope and complexity;
- Collaborate the development, management, and implementation of in-person and online educational programs for justices of the peace and constables;
- Draft request for proposals (RFPs) in accordance with agency policies;
- Negotiate and develop contracts related to all aspects of training;
- Create, design, produce, and distribute training/conference guides, training announcements, training manuals, handouts, signage and other materials;
- Develop and manage logistical aspects (refreshments, meals, seating, registration, accommodations, etc.) for all training events;
- Manage a Learning Management System, including uploading, publishing, creating, managing, testing, and assigning users and content within the Learning Management System (LMS);
- Respond to and troubleshoots inquiries related to the LMS and training issues;
- Accurately pull and manage LMS reporting as needed;
- Manage enrollment, rosters, and end-user transcripts;
- Direct, review and evaluate training materials developed by others for consistency, technical accuracy and compliance with established standards and department policies;
- Communicate effectively with a diverse population;
- Oversee budget for training program;
- Coordinate the purchasing of training materials and supplies in accordance with the budget and state guidelines
- Obtain accreditation for training programs in accordance with MCLE regulations;
- Update information in multiple databases and works with IT on database maintenance.
