Main Purpose of Job
The Administrative Specialist III offers advanced administrative support to the Social Services Administration's Office of Quality, Policy, and Performance Management (QPPM). This position demands the use of independent judgment and analysis to assist the implementation of quality assurance and policy initiatives. The job include creating reports, coordinating office operations, adhering to project timeframes, and promoting communication between internal and external parties.
POSITION DUTIES
Administrative Support: Assist the Director of Quality, Policy, and Performance Management with advanced administrative tasks such as calendar management, meeting scheduling, and agenda and minutes preparation.� Data Collection and Reporting: Create statistics tables, charts, and reports for presentations and internal use.� Budget and Procurement Assistance: Assist in the development of budget requests and tracking of QPPM-related expenditures.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate. Experience: Two years of experience performing administrative staff, clerical, clerical technical, or secretarial work. Notes: 1. Candidates may substitute 30 college credit hours from an accredited college or university for each year of the required experience. 2. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a non-commissioned officer involving staff work requiring regular use of independent judgment and analysis in applying and interpreting rules and regulations in accordance with agency laws and policies on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.
DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Preference will be given to applicants who possess the following preferred qualification(s). Include clear and specific information on your application regarding your qualifications. One year of experience working with families and children in a Human Services program. Six months of experience using computer software such as Microsoft Office and Google Workspace to perform functions such as: create spreadsheets, prepare meeting agendas, document meeting notes, schedule meetings, manage calendar invitations, create presentations and slide decks Six months of experience coordinating or supporting projects involving data collection and analysis
LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS
Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator’s license valid in the State of Maryland.
