POSITION DUTIES
Oversees an assigned consumer residence area and provides crisis counseling and supportive teaching to residents of the dormitory at the Workforce & Technology Center. Maintain a healthy, safe, and sanitary environment for individuals with disabilities who are generally independent in their activities of daily living. This position's shift is primarily from 11:00 PM - 7:30 AM each day�Sunday - Thursday. Position Duties Include:� Provides monitoring and supervision of all residential dormitory areas.�� Observes and monitors behavior of consumers to ensure compliance with dormitory rules and department’s best business practices.�� Instructs in and monitors basic housekeeping skills so that consumers can maintain their assigned living areas.�� Instructs consumers in maintaining personal hygiene and appearance and develops tools to assist as needed. Observes and monitors the behavior of consumers to ensure compliance with health and safety standards. Monitors residential environments to ensure maintenance of health and safety standards.�� Conducts physical walk through of dormitory area by completion of daily room checks, evening bed checks, and nightly rounds as assigned to ensure overall safety and welfare of consumers.� Monitors behaviors of consumers and coordinates with WTC staff to ensure the consumers’ needs are met. Communicate effectively with consumers and other staff using positive customer service skills.� Schedules room assignments, as requested by supervisory staff.� Participates in staff development activities, special assignments, and program activities required to maintain and improve professional skills, meet program licensing and/or certification requirements, and meet agency objectives.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education:��� An Associate of Arts degree or 60 credit hours with at least six credit hours in education, psychology or counseling from an accredited college or university. Experience:�One year of experience providing counseling or other rehabilitation services in a program serving persons with disabilities. Note:�Candidates may substitute the possession of a Bachelor’s degree with 30 credit hours in a human services related field from an accredited college or university for the required experience.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
This position is identified as emergency essential personnel and as such, this position requires the incumbent to report for work or remain at the work site to continue agency operations during an emergency situation.� This position is primarily night shift 11:00 PM – 7:30 AM Sunday - Thursday, but may be adjusted to cover other shifts and areas as needed.� Employees in this classification will be required to provide the agency with a telephone number where they can be reached.� Applicants for this classification are subject to a criminal background investigation in accordance with the federal Family Law Article, Section 5.� Employees in this classification are subject to substance abuse testing in accordance with Code of Maryland Regulations 06.01.09, Testing for Illegal Use of Drugs.� Candidates must consent to State Police Investigation (fingerprinting) as a routine procedure for all employees with this Agency.

Salary : $39,584 - $62,705
