IntroductionGRADE : 21LOCATION OF POSITION : MDH, Calvert County Health Department, Prince Frederick, MDMain Purpose of JobThe main purpose of the Director of Behavioral Health Services is to lead the merger of the Mental Health Division and the Substance Abuse Division of the Calvert County Health Department. This position will direct and coordinate all Behavioral Health Programs for the Calvert County Health Department, which includes : Outpatient Mental Health Clinic;Outpatient Addictions Clinic;Prevention Program (for tobacco, mental health, and addictions).MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSQualified candidates must possess a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in a behavioral health field and six years of professional health or human services experience, including three years in behavioral health services, and three years supervisory or management level. A master's degree in a behavioral health field will substitute for one year of behavioral health experience; a Doctorate degree in a behavioral health field for two years. Additional experience in health or human services will substitute for the bachelor's degree at the rate of 1 year of experience for 30 credits for up to 4 years of experience.DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSDesirable candidates should possess at least 5 years of experience directing a behavioral health program including the personnel and financial aspect of the program.LIMITATIONS ON SELECTIONThis position is limited to current employees of the Calvert County Health Department only.SELECTION PROCESSThis is a Management Service position and serves at the pleasure of the Appointing Authority.
