Main Purpose of Job
POSITION DUTIES
- Plan instruction, tutoring, practice and assessment in alignment with identified goals.
- Provide direct supplemental/remedial instruction services to identified students.
- Work with individual and small groups of students both within and outside of classrooms to assist students in achieving closing targeted academic goals.
- Implement best teaching practices to close the targeted academic gaps.
- Follow intervention plan (compensatory ed plan), monitor target students' performance, and collect data.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Bachelor's degree required.
Candidates must be eligible to apply for or be willing to obtain certification by the Maryland State Department of Education within a prescribed amount of time. Fluency in American Sign Language and written English required. Knowledge of the Deaf culture, Deaf Education, students with additional disabilities and ability to teach students on different levels and with varying educational and language acquisition backgrounds is required.
