Main Purpose of Job
POSITION DUTIES
- Management: Manage and direct a team of computer network professionals engaged in a variety of technical functions. This includes establishing work assignments, reviewing accomplishments, establishing an education and training plan, approving vacations and performance appraisals.
- Security Policies: Develop all LABOR policies and guidelines that pertain to Information Technology concerning security of LABOR infrastructure and data assets. Implement these policies and ensure they are being followed and that LABOR is meeting the required security guidelines of DoIT, the State CISO and other overseeing departments and entities. Develop and execute a vulnerability assessment program to protect the agencies’ data assets.
- Platform Security: Maintains and monitors the anti-virus software on servers and personal computers belonging to the department. Also responsible for leading patch management, testing and deployment on personal computers and servers to ensure that the latest software and security updates are installed. Recommend, select, implement and support security related software and hardware products. Act as department liaison for firewall and security matters with the state-wide Information Technology division. Tasks will include firewall rule management, change requests, testing and evaluation of any changes.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Computer Information Technology, Management Information Systems, Computer Science or other information technology related field to include course work in database management systems.
Experience: Two years of experience in an information systems or cybersecurity role.
Notes:
1. Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate plus thirty credit hours from an accredited college or university in Computer Information Security or CyberSecurity Program plus an additional two years work experience systems security or cybersecurity role may be substituted for the required education.
2. Work experience in a Computer Information Security or CyberSecurity role with duties similar to the position requirements may be substituted for post-secondary education requirements on a year-for-year basis.DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
