Main Purpose of Job
The main purpose of this part-time contractual position is to provide clinical care and oversight for the Reproductive Health (RH) program, as well as offer consultation services to the Bureau of Community Health Nursing. This position will coordinate, provide, document and follow up on direct services to clients within the RH program. This position will be responsible for establishing medical diagnoses for reproductive health problems, providing education and counseling and developing care plans in accordance with Maryland Family Planning Program Clinical Guidelines.
Minimum Qualifications
Education : Determined by the Maryland State Board of Physician Quality Assurance under the certification requirements for Physician Assistants.
Experience : One year of experience performing the duties of a Physician Assistant.
Note : Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer in Physician Assistant classifications or Physician Assistant specialty codes in the Physician field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required experience and education.
Desired Or Preferred Qualifications
The desired candidate should possess the following: 1. Experience in cervical cancer screening and management, including Papanicolaou smear (PAP) collection and making recommendations. 2. Experience with Nexplanon insertions and removals. 3. Experience with IUD insertions and removals. 4. Experience performing Colposcopies. 5. Experience working in a Title X facility or Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC). 6. Bilingual in English and Spanish.
LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS
Candidates for positions in this classification must possess a current certificate, or be eligible for certification, as a Physician Assistant from the Maryland State Board of Physician Quality Assurance, 4201 Patterson Avenue, Baltimore, Maryland 21215.

Contractual employees who work for an agency covered under the State Employee and Retiree Health and Welfare Benefits Program, have a current employment contract, and work 30 or more hours a week (or on average 130 hours per month) may be eligible for subsidized health benefits coverage for themselves and their dependents. As a contractual employee, you will be responsible for paying 25% of the premiums for your medical and prescription coverage, including any eligible dependents you have enrolled. The State of Maryland will subsidize the remaining 75% of the cost for these benefits. You can also elect to enroll in dental coverage, accidental death and dismemberment insurance, and life insurance, but will be responsible to pay the full premium for these benefits. Leave may be granted to a contractual employee who has worked 120 days in a 12-month period. This leave accrues at a rate of one hour for every 30 hours worked, not to exceed 40 hours per calendar year.
