IntroductionGRADE ASTD23 LOCATION OF POSITION Springfield Hospital Center PsyARTS Department 6655 Sykesville Road Sykesville, MD 21784Main Purpose of Job The main purpose of this position is to provide psychological assessments and treatment to SHC patients with serious persistent mental illness, personality disorders, co-occurring disorders, addiction, and trauma and recovery issues. Services facilitate recovery, increase optimal patient functioning, and facilitate rapid successful community re-entry. Treatment and assessments are evidence-based treatment and / or proven to advance patients towards successful community re-entry. This position will provide assistance with training and supervision of psychology associates, psychology interns, and psychology externs where needed and / or appropriate. This position supports the mission of the organization through active participation in clinical efforts to provide treatment in a recovery-oriented environment. The foundation of a recovery-oriented environment is respect and a commitment to safety in the least restrictive manner possible. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSEducation : Determined by the Maryland State Board of Examiners of Psychologists under the licensing requirements for Psychologists. Experience : Determined by the Maryland State Board of Examiners of Psychologists under the licensing requirements for Psychologists. LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS1. Candidates for this classification must be licensed as a Psychologist by the Maryland Board of Examiners of Psychologists prior to permanent appointment to a position. Applicants who do not have a Maryland license may apply before receipt of the required license but the application will be designated in pending status by the Maryland Department of Health (MDH) Testing Unit. When the license has been obtained, submit a copy of the license to MDH to remove the pending status from the application. 2. Employees in this classification may be assigned duties that require operation of a motor vehicle.
