TheDepartment of Developmental Services (DDS) is seeking a motivated and experienced individual for the Psychological Assistant II position. The selected candidate for this position will provide a full range of psychological services including conduct assessments, create positive behavioral support plans, attend meetings, training staff, provide input into Medication Treatment Plans, and Individual Service Plans (ISPs), and provide individual and group counseling. Job Responsibilities : (The duties and responsibilities stated are general summary and not all inclusive.) - Provide direct hands-on individual training and active involvement with assigned caseload, managing aggression, self injury,social behavior and provide skilled acquisition training program. - Manage crisis prevention and intervention plans and provide crisis intervention during behavioral / psychiatricemergencies. - Perform assessments of individuals clinical needs and diagnosis. - Participate in the development of positive behavior management and other teaching programs which impact thepsychological well-being of individuals. - Collect, collate, and evaluate data on medication effects on individuals on his / her caseload. - Understand the principles and techniques of Applied Behavior Analysis including single subject methodology andremains current in relevant research literature. Preferred Qualifications : - Competent in behavioral intervention, applied behavior analysis and other research-based methodologies. - Experienced with principles of positive behavior support systems and trauma informed care. - Demonstrated knowledge of the interpretation and analysis of assessment and testing results, Diagnosis of intellectual and developmental disabilities, and current trends in the field. - Strong written and verbal communication skills with an aptitude for interacting effectively with a variety of individuals. - Skilled at communication through the use of sign language. - Proficient use of data management software and Microsoft applications such as Outlook, Word, and Excel. Minimum Entrance Requirements : Applicants must have (A) Bachelor’s degree or higher with a major in psychology or related field and at least two years of full-time or equivalent part-time professional experience in the field ofmental health, education, social work, social or human services administration, counseling,rehabilitation or psychological services or treatment or (B)a Master’s degree inpsychology orrelated field and at least one year of full-time or equivalent part-time professional experience in the field of mental health, education, social work, social or human services administration,counseling, rehabilitation or psychological services or treatment. Special Requirements : Based on assignment, travel may be required. Incumbents who elect to use a motor vehicle for travel must have a current and valid motor vehicle driver's license at a class level specific to assignment. Salary placement is determined by a combination of factors, including the candidate’s years of directly related experience and education, and alignment with our internal compensation structure as set forth by the Human Resources Division’s Hiring Guidelines. For all bargaining unit positions (non-management), compensation is subject to the salary provisions outlined in the applicable collective bargaining agreement and will apply to placement within the appropriate salary range .__
