This position is manager of the Care Coordination Section (CCS) and is responsible for ensuring the consistent application
of specific provisions within the Public Health Code that address lead exposure response and prevention. The manager is
also responsible for administering activities as prescribed within cooperative agreements with the Centers for Disease
Control and Prevention, and sub agreements under Title V Maternal and Child Health Block Grant program, specifically as
it relates to child lead exposure response and prevention.
The section manager will directly supervise multiple unit managers and be responsible for coordinating the work practices
across units to ensure consistent application of the best available science and public health practices to protect sensitive
and/or vulnerable residents in Michigan from lead exposure. The units within this section provide functional support to the
overarching Childhood Lead Poisoning Prevention Program (CLPPP). The section manager provides leadership to CLPPP
and ensures coordination and communication with other state, federal, and local health agencies and the public to maintain
and disseminate data on lead poisoning and conduct education and interventions to mitigate and prevent the adverse
health effects of exposure to lead in the environment.
The person in this position interacts with the public, local, state, and federal officials via meetings, telephone conversations,
e-mails, and on-site visits, responding to community health concerns and providing information to protect public health. The
section manager is also responsible for administrative duties including, but not limited to, budget oversight, resource
management, annual evaluations, time and attendance, performance measures, scorecard metrics, mentoring staff,
determining work assignments, recommending disciplinary actions, and ensuring a professional work
environment that complies with state and federal requirements, as well as with governance of the Environmental Health
Bureau.

To Be Considered For This Position You Must
Required Education And Experience
Education
Possession of a bachelor's degree in any major.
Experience
Four years of professional experience, including two years equivalent to the experienced (P11) level or one year equivalent to the advanced (12) level.
Alternate Education And Experience
Education level typically acquired through completion of high school and two years of safety and regulatory or law enforcement experience at the 14 level; or, one year of safety and regulatory or law enforcement experience at the 15 level, may be substituted for the education and experience requirements.

Position Location/Remote Office: The physical location of this position is 333 S. Grand Avenue in Lansing, MI. Based on operational needs and within established limits, remote work and alternate or hybrid work schedule requests for this position may be considered. Selected candidates who have been approved to work remotely or a hybrid schedule must complete that work within Michigan. Candidates should confirm work location and schedule at the time of interview.
