Position is the recognized resource for monthly PIHP capitation payment summary reports. Monthly, multiple queries are run in the MDHHS data warehouse from the contractor payment area to report payments broken down by fund source (Medicaid, Healthy Michigan, HSW, Children’s Waiver, Serious Emotional Disturbance Waiver) for each PIHP. Reports include each month’s payments and cumulative payments for the fiscal year.
This position functions as the recognized resource for Prepaid Inpatient Health Plan (PIHP) capitation payment summary reports. It interacts with MDHHS and external personnel on matters relating to the CHAMPS Medicaid management information system enrollment, encounter and capitation payment data. The individual is responsible for monitoring the quality of PIHP data and working with PIHPs and other external partners to resolve data quality issues. This individual is responsible for compiling, manipulating, and analyzing large data sets including capitation payment, benefit plan enrollment, encounters, and CHAMPS provider enrollment. These analyses are used to fulfill legislative, federal and other reporting requirements and to determine rate adjustor payment amounts. Position is responsible for updating reporting processes to adjust to CHAMPS changes in benefit plans and capitation payments.

Education
Possession of a bachelor's degree in any major.
Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in statistics, social science, information management, or a health-related field.
Experience
Three years of professional experience, including one year of experience equivalent to the experienced (P11) level in state service.
Preferred: Experience in complex data analysis and data management - monitoring, evaluating or reviewing data systems to improve data quality. Considerable experience with analytical software such as Excel, Access, SAS or SPSS. Experience with developing own computer queries or programs for data analysis.

The physical location of this position is located: 400 South Pine, Lansing MI 48933. Based on operational needs and within established limits, remote work and alternate or hybrid work schedule requests for this position may be considered.
Employees will be provided computers to perform state work. Phones may also be provided for necessary communications. If working remotely, employees will be responsible for providing other components of a remote office at their own expense, including:
o A secure work location that allows privacy and prevents distractions.
