The Department of Technology, Management and Budget supports the business operations of state agencies through a variety of services, including building management and maintenance, information technology, centralized contracting and procurement, budget and financial management, space planning and leasing, construction management, motor vehicle fleet operations, and oversight of the state retirement systems.
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented General Office Assistant to serve as the primary point of contact for the DTMB HR office. This role is essential in ensuring the smooth operation of daily HR functions and administrative tasks. The ideal candidate will be proactive, efficient, and possess strong communication and organizational skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the first point of contact for the HR Office, providing assistance to employees and external inquiries.
- Prepare and post job openings on internal and external job boards.
- Manage incoming and outgoing mail, including UPS shipments.
- Act as the department's content manager, ensuring timely updates and accuracy of HR-related materials.
- Process supply orders using the State of Michigan procurement card.
- Maintain and update the department organization chart.
- Assist in onboarding new employees, including orientation facilitation.
- Support payroll processing, timekeeping, and employee transactions.
