About DTMB:
The Department of Technology, Management and Budget supports the business operations of state agencies through a variety of services, including building management and maintenance, information technology, centralized contracting and procurement, budget and financial management, space planning and leasing, construction management, motor vehicle fleet operations, and oversight of the state retirement systems.
About This Position:
Leads, directs, and manages the State of Michigan’s MiDEAL Extended Purchasing and Vendor Outreach programs. Establishes the strategic and marketing plans for these initiatives. Implements approved plans for accomplishing the strategic and marketing plans. Creates performance standards and assigns/supervises work for section employees. Works with outside organizations as well as internal Central Procurement Services (CPS)/SOM groups to assure effectiveness of plans and accomplishment of results. This position is responsible for providing direction and control of functions and activities in the work area including establishing priorities, allocating staff, employee evaluations, employee counseling, employee selection, provision of technical and policy guidance, and training of employees.

Position Location:
This position is located in Lansing, MI. This position may work a hybrid (remote/office) schedule with 2 days required in the office per week. Selected candidates who have been approved to work a hybrid schedule must complete that work within Michigan. Candidates should confirm work location and schedule at the time of interview.
Required Education And Experience
Education
Possession of a bachelor's degree in any major.
Experience
Four years of professional experience, including two years equivalent to the experienced (P11) level or one year equivalent to the advanced (12) level.
Alternate Education And Experience
Education level typically acquired through completion of high school and two years of safety and regulatory or law enforcement experience at the 14 level; or, one year of safety and regulatory or law enforcement experience at the 15 level, may be substituted for the education and experience requirements.
