This position serves as manager of the Gas Safety North Section within the Gas Safety & Operations Division. This position is responsible for directing, coordinating and supervising programs, activities and staff assigned to this Unit. Programs are related to pipeline safety (PA 165 of 1969), the Michigan Gas Safety Standards (Rule 460.20101 et seq.), and the Pipeline Safety database. This position is responsible for the administration of the federal Gas Pipeline Safety Program grant (49 USC 60101 et seq.) ensuring federal reporting and audits are completed accurately and in a timely manner and overseeing the maintenance of the Pipeline Safety Database. This position advises management and division directors on issues related to pipeline safety in Michigan, as well as related federal grant and funding requirements.
