Job Summary
This position is located at Central Office in St. Paul and has the flexibility to work a hybrid schedule or work in the office. The incumbent will be required to make a telework arrangement with their supervisor. The incumbent is expected to work in the office on occasion.
This position provides leadership and direction for the long-term and sustainable growth of Minnesota’s system of airports. This includes providing the office with expertise in airport safety zoning and compatible land use around airports, managing and overseeing the Air Service Marketing grant program, Airport Layout Plan (ALP) reviews and approval processes, and management of aviation system and environmental planning activities in a particular region of the state. The position will also participate in all State Aviation System Planning activities, including, but not limited to, updates to the State Aviation System Plan and a continuous system planning process. Lastly, the position may also be a project manager for various long- or short-term planning efforts and/or studies.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
Three years of advanced professional transportation planning experience that demonstrates:
- Experience interpreting and applying state and federal requirements for transportation zoning and compatible land use.
- Experience leading and coordinating major statewide/regional planning projects.
A bachelor's or master’s degree in planning, geography, urban studies, sociology, or political science may substitute for six months of advanced professional transportation planning experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Spatial database experience such as Geographical Information Systems (GIS).
- Experience leading and managing airport-related planning projects.
- Experience with Airport Layout Plans.
- Experience with state/federal airport grant programs.
