This position exists to create and maintain a safe and secure environment, monitor safety and security concerns, and contact persons for emergency personnel at North Hennepin Community College buildings and surrounding property. Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • At least two (2) years of experience as a Security Patrol Officer, Crime Prevention Officer, or Peace Officer.
  • Associate's degree or higher in Law Enforcement, Paralegal, or related field may substitute for 1 year of experience; Bachelor’s degree in the above areas may substitute for 2 years of experience.
  • Physical Demands (e.g., standing, sitting, walking/running).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ability to speak multiple languages.
  • Experience designing a student dispatcher training program.
  • Emergency Medical Responder Training Certification.
  • National Incident Management System (NIMS) Training.
  • Possess strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Ability to understand and implement federal, state, and college regulations and requirements as they relate to safety and security.
  • Ability to handle delicate situations and respond to confrontations/disputes.

Additional Requirements

In accordance with the Minnesota State Vehicle Fleet Safety Program, employees driving on college/university business who use a rental or state vehicle shall be required to conform to Minnesota State's vehicle use criteria and consent to a Motor Vehicle Records check.
