Job Summary

The Minnesota Sex Offender Program (MSOP) is a sex offense specific treatment program in a modified therapeutic community and secure setting that provides comprehensive services to 740 civilly committed clients. Services include sex offense specific treatment, education programming, therapeutic recreation, vocational programming, and volunteer services.

The Minnesota Sex Offender Program (MSOP) is seeking an individual to join our team for an exciting and rewarding opportunity as a Clinical Supervisor. The Clinical Supervisor provides clinical and administrative supervision of treatment staff at the Minnesota Sex Offender Program (MSOP) St. Peter site. This requires close, collaborative relationships between facility staff, Department of Human Services, community based national and local programs and contractors/vendors. The Clinical Supervisor is responsible for adherence to any licensing, certification or rules established specifically for this program within the context of protecting public safety and treating patients humanely and safely. Inherent in the duties of the Clinical Supervisor is the ability to prepare for, and respond to, any unusual or emergency situations so the safety, accountability, welfare and security of the facility, public, on-site personnel, and clients is provided

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Manage and oversee sex offender specific programming and treatment to ensure the programming functions in compliance with professional Department of Human Services standards; maintains a safe, secure, and humane environment for patients and staff; and ensures the safety of the public.
  • Provide clinical supervision and direction to maintain integrity of clinical programming which includes supervision of each primary therapist in the development of treatment plans, progress reviews and discharge summaries.
  • Exercise supervisory authority so that applicable labor agreements and plans are equitably administered and employees under this jurisdiction will effectively perform assigned job duties to achieve the objectives of the Minnesota Sex Offender Program.
  • Represent the Minnesota Sex Offender Program in behavioral health services, along with formulate, establish and assure implementation of policies, directives, instructions and internal operating practices so that all areas of responsibility effectively carry out the goals and objectives of the program/department.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

To qualify, applicants must:

Have a Master’s or Doctorate degree in Psychology, Social Work or closely related field; AND

Be licensed OR license eligible as an independent clinical mental health professional (LP, LPCC, LMFT, LICSW) in Minnesota; AND

Have Two (2) years of clinical supervisory experience with mental health and/or sexual offender treatment or assessment OR three (3) years professional-level clinical experience with sexual offender treatment or assessment.

*** Note: Completion of leadership development program such as L4, Emerging Leaders Institute, etc. will substitute for 1 year of professional – level clinical experience. ***

Direct Care & Treatment (DCT) healthcare facilities require employees to provide documentation that they are free from tuberculosis (TB) through a blood test prior to employment. DCT does not accept TB skin testing.
