Job Summary
Hybrid work environment with potential for telework. Likely two days per week in office; primary work location will be the Golden Rule Building in St. Paul.
Help play an important role in bringing clean energy financing opportunities that benefit all Minnesotans. The Minnesota Climate Innovation and Finance Authority (MnCIFA) is a newly established state agency. Lots of room for innovation! MnCIFA is on the leading edge of a growing number of green banks nationwide. We're looking for someone who's energized by establishing systems and defining success. MnCIFA's vision: To ensure all Minnesotans share the individual and economic benefits of clean and renewable energy, particularly in low-income communities and environmental justice communities.
This position leads communications and outreach activities for MnCIFA. In this capacity, this position is responsible for the development, implementation, and integration of cohesive communications and outreach activities to support MnCIFA in activities for public-facing communications and community and partner engagement, as well as internal communications and inter-agency coordination. This position will work independently, with minimal daily review to carry out these responsibilities. This position will support the management of issues related to MnCIFA’s positions, public policy and politically sensitive topics and the course of action that is determined.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
Four (4) years of strategic, high-level management and leadership experience that includes:
- Experience in communications and public relations.
A Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Marketing, or related field can substitute for one (1) year of experience.
An Advanced degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Marketing, or related field can substitute for eighteen (18) months of experience.
Applicants who meet the above education/experience requirements will be further evaluated based on the following:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to maintain positive relationships and influence others across a wide variety of people.
- Proficiency in creating, posting, and sharing creative, engaging social media content for an organization, and assessing analytics, for social media platforms.
- Experience planning and implementing external communication for community and/or partner engagement, including creating PowerPoint presentations, speechwriting, and preparing content for legislative hearings.
- Experience managing website content and working with Content Management Systems.
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
Preferred Qualifications
- A master's degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or Marketing.
- More than three (3) years of experience in communications and public relations.
- Experience in government service.
- Extensive knowledge of and experience working within a regulatory environment.
- Expiernece or demonstrated interest in environmental sustainability.
Physical Requirements
Requires occasional moving of articles such as boxes, accounting records, laptop computer, and portable printer.
