This new cabinet-level agency brings together programs centered on children and families, including child care and early learning, child support, child safety and permanency, economic support and food assistance, and youth opportunity. The new Department of Children, Youth, and Families (DCYF) Agency became effective on July 1, 2024.
This position also provides full-service visual design expertise and services for the Department of Children, Youth and Families through the Office of Communications. You will determine how to communicate effectively with key agency messages through visual design in high-impact communications products with broad public exposure as well as in communications products that serve critical business needs.

This position also provides full-service visual design expertise and services for the Department of Children, Youth and Families through the Office of Communications. You will determine how to communicate effectively with key agency messages through visual design in high-impact communications products with broad public exposure as well as in communications products that serve critical business needs.
Responsibilities include:
- Provide planning and project management expertise for agency visual design projects.
- Provide visual design and development services for key projects across the agency.
- Design and develop communication products to support critical business needs.
- To facilitate proper crediting, please ensure that your resume clearly describes your experience in the areas listed and indicates the beginning and ending month, day and year for each job held.**
- Extensive knowledge of computer and related graphics and publishing software (such as InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Acrobat, LiveCycle, Dreamweaver, Fireworks, Microsoft Office as well as Liquid Office for publishing purposes).
- Expert understanding of a digital camera.
- Understanding and knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript.
- Experience analyzing customer needs and developing them.
- Experience troubleshooting project-related problems include resolving electronic design, printing problems/errors, working with reluctant staff in changing design and printing specifications.
- Bachelor's degree in Video Production, Interactive Media, Communications or closely related field may substitute for 1 year of professional experience***
- 3 years of experience in visual design and production
- Experience working in consultation with executives and leaders
- Experience creating visual design strategic plans
- Experience working in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Variety of experiences working effectively with others from different backgrounds and cultures.
