Job Summary
This position will assist the Heavy Equipment Mechanics by performing diagnosis of mechanical defects of heavy equipment; assist mechanics with scheduled and unscheduled maintenance of equipment; conduct hydraulic repairs, electrical problem solving, and assist in major body work and modifications; serve and maintain light and heavy equipment.

Minimum Qualifications
To qualify for Heavy Equipment Service attendant, applicants must meet all the following:
- Knowledge of heavy equipment service and repair procedures and techniques sufficient to repair minor equipment failures and assist mechanic in major overhauls.
- Ability to use heavy equipment machine and hand tools to diagnose minor equipment repair problems.
- Knowledge of basic math.
- Computer experience sufficient to work in specific DOT databases (scheduling systems.)
- A valid class D driver’s license.
- Possession of a valid Class B driver’s license with tanker endorsement and no air brake restrictions within 6 months of hire.
In addition to the preceding minimum qualifications, you will be assessed on the following if interviewed:
- Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions to act upon directions from a maintenance supervisor, foreman, or mechanic.
Preferred Qualifications
- Class A driver’s license.
- Graduation of a two-year vocational/technical Heavy Equipment Mechanic Training program.
- Possession of four current certifications (functionally distinct) in heavy truck mechanics administered by the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) or equivalent professional mechanic certification program.
