Job Summary
As the Student Worker Reports and Dashboards Developer, you will support MNIT partnering with DOT by performing reporting and programming tasks in support of the financial application development and reporting units. While learning and performing tasks, the incumbent will be encouraged to leverage classroom work and outside experience.
- Telework for Minnesota IT Services allows an employee to perform work from a telework location and an employee may be required to be in the office based on business needs and other dependencies in St. Paul, Minnesota.
- Only candidates located in Minnesota and bordering states (Iowa, North Dakota, South Dakota, or Wisconsin) are telework eligible.

Education
Student Worker Eligibility - To be eligible for an appointment as a Student Worker Paraprofessional, you must be enrolled in a post-secondary or graduate educational program or plan to enroll within three months. Students may be "off" for the summer or for one semester/quarter and remain employed as a student worker, but such absences cannot exceed one semester/quarter in a year. If you are enrolled at a credit-granting institution, you must carry at least six semester/nine quarter credits. If enrolled at a non-credit granting institution or one that only offers one credit per class, you must be taking two or more classes per semester/quarter. Any lesser credit (class) load will be treated as a semester/quarter off. Graduate students must be enrolled in at least two courses or making progress on a dissertation. You will be asked to complete an Educational Verification form prior to appointment.
Experience
- Academic programs can include Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related program.
- Ability to conduct research into a wide range of computing issues.
- Knowledge of basic report development tools such as Crystal Reports, Power BI, and other database mining tools.
- Ability to deliver effective verbal or written messages that facilitate a mutual understanding on both parties.
- Customer service skills that include active listening, empathy, and problem-solving.

- Ability to translate technical information for non-technical staff.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Effective communication and organizational skills with the ability to work independently.
- Ability to develop reports and providing status updates.
