Job Summary
The Vendor Support Specialist position will analyze and process requests to vendor accounts as requested by state agencies and vendors. Research and analyze issues related to vendor account changes and make changes as needed to correct these issues. Assist state agencies and vendors with changes to vendor accounts. Work with vendor support staff to recommend and implement changes/new processes when identified. Run reports for others as requested. Work with suppliers and agency staff on the EFT Helpline and email to ensure there are minimal errors in vendor setup and support. Provide excellent customer services skills with all callers and correspondence. Performs bank changes, direct deposit, removal of banking and assist with adding banking for payments plus / virtual payments. Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- Two (2) years of para-professional/technical level experience using a large, complex automated accounting/payroll system, such as the State of Minnesota’s Statewide Integrated Financial Tools (SWIFT) system.
- Administrative and organizational skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite products, such as Word, Excel, and Access
- Ability to navigate multiple software applications and databases.
- Proven analytical and research skills to solve problems, make recommendations and initiate corrective actions.
- Customer service experience on phones, email correspondence and/or in person.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience/understanding of the state’s Accounting/Procurement system (SWIFT)
- Bachelor’s degree in business/accounting related field.
- Experience working in a call center
- Customer service in the banking industry or in vendor support.
- Accounts payable knowledge, including adding vendors, changing banking information and basic account set up.

Minnesota Management and Budget will conduct reference checks to verify job-related credentials and a criminal background check prior to appointment.
