EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Senior-level administrative work in which the incumbent serves as director of multiple divisions within the Department of Public Safety. Work involves developing, controlling, and directing operations through various highly specialized professional and technical staff. The incumbent exercises final authority in establishing objectives, standards, and control measures within the context of broad, general policy guidelines for large programs having significant statewide impact. The incumbent also determines major departmental policy and provides input into other significant agency operations.For the Driver Service Bureau, these roles include Program Managers who oversee daily operations of the units performing specialized or technical processes ensuring compliance. These units may include CDL Help Desk and/or CDLIS Unit personnel. Incumbents also serve as primary contact for driver data compliance issues with AAMVA and FMCSA personnel and/or issuance system and technology contractors.
