- Coordinates the preparation and submission of state plans and applications to be submitted to funding sources under federal education statutes which are administered by the Office of Quality Schools.
- Supervises the implementation of federal educational programs by sections within the Office of Quality Schools responsible for direct administration of the programs.
- Interprets state and federal education regulations and guidelines as applied in local school districts.
- Represents the interests of federal educational programs on intradepartmental and interdepartmental task forces and committees.
- Cooperates with other divisions in the Department in implementing Department policies and priorities.
- Performs related work at the request of the Assistant Commissioner for Office of Quality Schools or the Commissioner of Education.
- Supervises professional and support staff in a cohesive working group.
- Demonstrate regular, reliable, and engaged attendance.
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in an academic discipline, elementary or secondary education, or closely related field. Understanding of and experience with the federal Elementary and Secondary Act.
- Four years of progressively responsible experience in the field of education administration, including supervisory experience. Understanding of and experience with the federal Elementary and Secondary Education Act.
