Disaster and Crisis Response Liaison
The Missouri Department of Mental Health seeks a Disaster and Crisis Response Liaison as part of the Central office team.
Responsibilities:
This position is responsible for assisting with statewide coordination of crisis response and emergency preparedness plans and implementation. The Disaster and Crisis Response Liaison will work closely with the Office of Disaster Services and the Division of Behavioral Health’s Crisis Services team, as well as the larger Prevention team.
Responsibilities would include, but would not be limited to:
- Liaison with Office of Disaster Services and Division of Behavioral Health to coordinate crisis response and emergency preparedness plans and implementation.
- Assist with statewide mobile crisis response planning, and mobile crisis response efforts to ensure timely and adequate response.
- Provide monitoring and adherence to disaster services and crisis services grants and program requirements and expectations.
- Work with grants management on developing and monitoring budgets, expenditures, and contracts.
- Recommends and provides technical assistance and training as needed for emergency response providers including behavioral health providers and crisis centers.
- Provide reports annually, or sooner as necessary, to the DMH, SAMHSA, Vibrant Emotional Health, and service providers on operations and outcomes.
- Work at the state level to develop, promote, or improve relationships with state agencies, and other stakeholders.
- Assist with evaluation, development and enhancement of culturally and linguistically tailored messaging to provide information about behavioral health in a crisis/mental health emergency and/or to identify culturally/linguistically appropriate supports for diverse populations.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree and 3-5 years of relevant experience preferred.
- Prefer familiarity with the state crisis system of care and state emergency response services.
- Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to set and meet deadlines for yourself and others, often with a quick turnaround time.
- Ability to manage multiple projects at once without sacrificing work product quality and meeting deadlines.
- Proficiency with Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
SALARY: $50,000- $60,000
Job Location: This position will be based out of Department of Mental Health Central Office: 1706 E Elm St. Jefferson City, MO 65102, hybrid-remote work option possible.
