The Office of Special Investigations Unit, within the Department of Health and Senior Services, is seeking an experienced criminal investigator to join our dymantic team. The goal of this investigator is to conduct criminal investigation related to allegations of abuse, neglect, and finanical exploitation involving the elderly and disabled citizens in Missouri. In this position, one has the statutory authority to work these investigations independently or in conjunction with law enforcement. As such, when there is probable cause that a crime was committed, this investigator will collaborate directly with the appropriate prosecutors office to recommend charges be filed. - Identify and interview victims, witnesses and suspects.
- Compile, analyze, evaluate, and preserve facts, statements, affidavits and other evidence.
- Prepare detailed investigative reports.
- Provide testimony in court and/or administrative proceedings.
- Maintain a positive working relationship with law enforcement, prosecutors, Home and Community Based Service providers, other state agencies and community entities
- Travel within a multi-county coverage area and adjacent counties as needed in response to assigned cases, attend or to provide presentations/trainings.
- Hours of this position will be on Monday through Friday 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM however overtime hours may be necessary.
- Four years minimum experience in conducting criminal investigations
- Missouri P.O.S.T. Certification preferred.
