The State of Missouri, Department of Mental Health at Southeast Missouri Mental Health Center is looking for an positive, energetic, and caring Recreation/Music Therapist Supervisor to provide services as part of one of our innovative interdisciplinary treatment teams to mentally ill forensic clients in a high security setting. Successful candidates will be able to demonstrate compassion and an ability to work in a trauma informed and recovery based environment.
This is a centralized RT/MT supervisory position. This position will supervise the other centralized staff, assist in making schedules for centralized programming, coordinate centralized programming for all units in APS, complete careware for their employees, and maintain equipment in the fitness center. Employee supervision includes hire recommendations, training, planning and assigning work, performance assessment, coaching, and progressive discipline. Supervision at this level also requires these employees to have the knowledge and skills to perform and review the work overseen, This is a Monday through Friday position 7:30 a - 4:00 p
Bachelor's Degree and 3 or more years of relevant experience (Substitutions may be allowed). A four year degree in recreational therapy or music therapy is preferred.
