Job Description :
State of Nebraska, DHHS, is looking for a Business and Contract Specialist to assist overseeing budgets, contracts, and expenditures for our 24-hour facilities. In this role, you'll ensure compliance, analyze financial impacts, and collaborate with stakeholders to keep operations running smoothly.

Examples of Work
Job duties for this position include :
- Monitor contracts and expenditures for compliance with the project budget for 24 -hour facilities.
- Obtain authorization for renewals.
- Work with contract stakeholders answering questions relating to the project.
- Analyze the impact of changes on contract and time needed for completion.
- Assist with final contract and necessary documentation.
- Reconcile multiple complex accounts to cover program expenses.
- Review invoices and other source documents to ensure information is accurate and complete and in compliance with established agency policies and procedures.
Requirements / Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications : Associates degree in accounting, finance, business administration, statistics or related field and experience with accounting / financial management systems OR 2 years' experience with professional accounting procedures including developing and modifying accounting / financial management systems.
Preferred Qualifications : Bachelor's degree business administration, procurement, supply / inventory operations, related field AND procurement related experience. Experience can be substituted for education on a year for year basis.
Other : Position is located on-site at the Nebraska State Office Building in Lincoln.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
Skill in using mathematical methods or formulas to compare and analyze and present data. Compiling data from multiple sources into a single, comprehensive document or report.
Problem solving; maintain effective working relationships with internal and external entities, researching and evaluating service contracts.
Ability to apply the principles of accounting, statistics, and fiscal management, work independently and prioritize work assignments.
