Job Description :
The Work Ethic Camp is seeking a transformational leader who brings performance-based management skills, a commitment to servant leadership, and the drive to inspire a culture of trust, creativity and commitment to the critical work of this agency and those it serves.

Duties :
- Responsible for specific shift of a custody force.
- Conduct special investigations; resolve problems between incarcerated individuals.
- Supervise the performance of all assigned security staff, and indirect supervision of other institutional staff.
- Conduct roll call and handle administrative paperwork.
- Supervise custody activities such as searches, institutional tours, visitor & inmate escort, and initial commander in emergency situations.
Requirements / Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications : Post-high school coursework / training in Criminal Justice or related Behavioral field and three years of progressively responsible corrections experience. Experience or coursework / training in supervision and leadership. Must be able to legally possess firearms and ammunition. No felony or domestic abuse related convictions.
Preferred Qualifications : One year of supervisory experience. Experience using KRONOS, or other electronic timekeeping system, in a supervisory capacity. Experience working for the Nebraska Department of Correctional Services.
Other : Must have a valid driver's license. Successful completion of background check. Applicants accepting a job offer must pass the following pre-employment exams in this order : medical exam, and at a randomly announced time, pass a drug test. Once at the Staff Training Academy, must successfully complete the fully paid NE Corrections Training Program.
Must be able to work all three shifts to include weekends and holidays. Successful applicant must : 1) be a positive role model; 2) be able to manage and lead staff; 3) promote teamwork, cooperation and collaboration throughout the facility and create a positive work environment; 4) be able to effectively communicate; 5) be able to effectively manage conflict and make decisions; 6) be dependable; and 7) have a demonstrated understanding of the responsibilities of this position.
