Job Description:
The primary focus is to investigate both from the field and office all complaints/violations of the Nebraska One Call Act also know as the "811 law.” This position will help with the legal and administrative process as outlined in state law and internal procedures, and will represent the pipeline safety division, and will perform other duties as assigned.

Job duties: Duties of this position include completing in-office investigations of violations to the Nebraska One Call Act; completing limited field investigations of violation to the Nebraska One Call Act; completion of required US DOT - Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration (PHMSA) training program for damage prevention technician (located in Oklahoma City, OK) within three (3) years; educating and training Operators and Excavators regarding applicable rules and initiatives coming from PHMSA and Nebraska One Call Act and Title 155; completing assigned administrative tasks related to the Nebraska One Call Act process; all other duties within the scope of the classification as assigned by the Chief Deputy.
Requirements / Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications: Training or experience in fire service, fire science, building construction, code enforcement, regulation enforcement, engineering or architecture AND a valid driver’s license or the ability to provide independent authorized transportation. Some positions in this class may require law enforcement certification.
Preferred Qualifications: Training or experience in fire service, fire science, building construction, code enforcement, regulation enforcement, engineering or architecture AND a valid driver’s license or the ability to provide independent authorized transportation. Some positions in this class may require law enforcement certification.
Other: This position requires travel, including overnight travel. As such, the incumbent must be able to present a valid driver's license or other form of reliable transportation. Training will take place across the state at various locations. Position will also work and train in area near their residence. Regular and reliable attendance is required.
