Job Description:
JOB DUTIES:
- Perform essential grounds, equipment, and facility maintenance.
- Mowing, watering, fertilizing, pruning, tree planting and removal, snow removal, road grading, noxious weed and insect control.
- Operate and maintain all machinery, equipment, and tools used in the performance of duties.
- Schedule, assign and coordinate the work assignments of grounds workers and special detail workers.
- Perform construction of new buildings and facilities.
- Assist with visitor services (i.e. permit sales, fee collection, and other programming).

Requirements/Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications: No specific education, training, or experience is required for entry to this class
Preferred Qualifications: Experience in lawn mowing, turf maintenance, hedge trimming, snow shoveling, gardening, farming, horticulture, landscaping, or grounds keeping. Must be at least 18 years of age and have driver’s license.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:
- Knowledge of the operation of various types of equipment associated with grounds maintenance.
- Ability to operate and maintain equipment, hand tools, and powered tools essential for maintenance and repair work including chain saws, weed whips, mowers, tractors and trucks.
- Perform heavy physical labor and to work in adverse weather conditions.
- Communicate effectively with staff.
