Job duties
Moves, loads, and unloads materials, supplies, furniture, and equipment; tears down modular furniture, reconstructs modular furniture. Assists with performing routine painting and plastering of interior and exterior building surfaces, signs, furniture, and equipment. Performs minor repair of furniture, doors, windows, shelves, and floors. Performs minor repair of water lines, sinks, and stools, unclogging drains and sewers, and replacing faucets, valves, and washers. Replaces light bulbs, outlets, and switches, and greases and oils electric motors and fans. Performs minor repairs and adjustments on a variety of machines and equipment such as air conditioners, chillers, furnaces, boilers, kitchen appliances, sewing machines, office equipment, electronic medical equipment, wheelchairs, pumps, fan assemblies, mowers, automotive vehicles, and grounds equipment. May maintain grounds by seeding, fertilizing, applying pesticides, watering, mowing, and trimming grass, weeding flower beds, trimming trees and shrubs, and removing snow and ice from sidewalks and parking areas. Moves, loads, and unloads materials, supplies, furniture, and equipment.
Requirements/ Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications: No specific education, training, or experience is required for entry to this class.
Preferred Qualifications: Long Term Care experience; commercial facility.
Other: Must be at least 18 years of age.
Knowledge, skills and abilities
Knowledge of: the standard tools and practices of various building and mechanical trades.
Skill in: the use of a variety of basic hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment.
Ability to: perform minor repairs in a variety of building and mechanical trades; understand and follow instructions; use/operate hand and power tools and power equipment in a safe manner; perform manual labor.
