To ensure that duty station requests are addressed while maintaining quality coverage across Nebraska, the Nebraska State Patrol (NSP) has implemented a system where candidates will know their duty station before beginning training at the NSP Training Academy.
Camp #72 starts on July 7, 2025. Graduation will be on December 19, 2025.
Requirements / Qualifications :
Minimum Qualifications :
- You must be a U.S. citizen before attending the academy on 7 / 7 / 2025.
- You must be 21 years old by graduation on 12 / 19 / 2025.
- High school or homeschool diploma or GED.
- Read, write, and understand the English language at the eleventh grade level (Test of Adult Basic Education required)
- Initial Physical Abilities Test required
- Applicants will undergo a background check, which includes reviewing criminal and traffic violations.
- Full disclosure of drug use or criminal behavior is mandatory; any deception will result in dismissal from the selection process.
- A full background investigation, polygraph, psychological evaluation, and medical exam.
Ability to :
Demonstrate proficiency in speaking, reading, and writing in English. (Please note : A Test of Adult Basic Education is required, and we will accept scores from Morrow & Associates, NLETC, or other Nebraska law enforcement agencies. Previous NSP test results are also acceptable if you passed.)
Accurately perceive color differences and hear verbal and radio communications.
Interact professionally with individuals from various social, cultural, economic, and educational backgrounds.
Be self-motivated and capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
