YRTC Kearney is looking for a Substitute Teacher. In this role you will be working with troubled youth. If you have a passion for making a difference in lives of others, we are looking for you!Do you have a passion for making a difference in the lives of other Nebraskans? If so, the Department of Health and Human Services is looking for you! Our students are in need of a long-term substitute teacher; this role will create and follow lesson plans for West Kearney High School at the Youth Rehabilitation Treatment Center.
The Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services Youth Treatment School System provides exceptional education and treatment services to high acuity youth. As an educator on our team, you can help youth find their passion for learning. DHHS is dedicated to a therapeutic, rehabilitative, and holistic approach to their care.
The long term substitute position will be at our Kearney YRTC location.

Requirements / Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications: Any teaching endorsement, with a 7-12 certification preferred. Will consider candidates eligible for valid Nebraska Teaching Certificate, a Local Substitute Permit, or a State Substitute Permit. Demonstrated experience working with youth in adolescent treatment setting a plus.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience working with youth at a treatment program / facility.
Knowledge, skills, abilities
Ability to regularly demonstrate patience, persistence, caring, empathy, and a desire to do what is best for these students. This position requires working directly with adolescents who may show physical aggression and uncooperative actions.
