Job Description:
JOB DUTIES:
- Management of campground and cabin rental operations, facility maintenance including multiple historic and original buildings along with multiple utilities.
- Management of grounds keeping operations, cultural and natural resources, range and livestock operations, and access to multiple water bodies and waterways.
- Oversight of various visitor activities/programs and events to include aquatic and food service operations.
- Hire, train, supervise, and mentor both permanent staff and seasonal staff for assigned areas of responsibility.
- Development and administration of park area budgets, accounting, data collection, maintaining records, preparing reports, fee collection, oversight of accounts payable and receivable functions.
- Master planning, infrastructure development and project/construction coordination.
- Lead and communicate with the community and general public in the efforts of park development and park promotion.
- Other duties as required.
- Hands-on training; opportunities for professional growth in park management and outdoor recreation.
- Gain administrative, planning, management, and partner development experiences.

Requirements / Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in park/recreation management or a related field; (wildlife, fisheries, natural resources sciences, public administration, history, cultural resource preservation or interpretation, travel and tourism, and planning) AND at least three years related experience including two years in a supervisory capacity. Related coursework/training and/or experience in park/recreation management or related field may substitute for the Bachelor’s degree on a year-for-year basis.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
- Knowledge and interest in park management, principles and techniques of supervision, Nebraska wildlife, natural resources, and outdoor recreation.
- Ability to perform manual labor, including lifting supplies and materials that may exceed 50 lbs.
- The operation, maintenance, and repair of park buildings, facilities, and equipment.
- Learn and apply agency rules and regulations.
- Clearly present and communicate information to varied audiences.
- Ability to maintain records and prepare reports.
- Work and make decisions independently and as a team.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, administrative personnel, and the public.
